Being Trauma Aware

Being Trauma Aware is a free online course that provides fundamental and evidence-based information so organizations and individuals can better support young people and families impacted by trauma.

Being Trauma Aware is aimed at anyone who works in a child-serving organization or who interacts in a formal way with children and youth possibly exposed to maltreatment or other adverse experiences. These individuals include social workers, teachers, police officers, doctors, coaches, and more.

The course includes five modules:

  • Childhood Maltreatment and Trauma

  • Trauma and its Impact on Brain Development

  • Impacts of Trauma

  • Trauma-Informed Practice

  • Building the Foundation for Resilience

Just a few hours of your time will equip you to make a lasting impact in the life of a child or youth who has experienced maltreatment.

Please Note: As of April 1, 2024, management of the Being Trauma Aware course has transitioned to Respect Group, A Headversity Company.
